GHOULISH CREATIVITY AT THIS YEARS PUMPKIN COMPETITION

Around Halloween every year, Bright Horizons puts on a spectacular pumpkin competition and all classes from Year 1 to Year 8 can enjoy participating! Ghoulish creativity at its best.

OUR WINNER FOR 2022

This year, Year 7 won the Pumpkin competition with their spectacular Baby Yoda Pumpkin. We have to say a very special thank you to Matilda S. because she drew the face for Baby Yoda without tracing.

YEAR 1

YR 1 had a spooky witch pumpkin with a super creative nose. The stem for a nose idea was super cool and reminded everyone of a real witch's nose.

YEAR 2

A spooky rainbow fish pumpkin! The scales were shiny and perfectly cut and the decorations made you go WOW! The red paint looked just like real blood.

YEAR 3

A spectacular Pikachu inspired pumpkin which was carved and painted! The cheeks were red and the eyes were perfect circles.

YEAR 4

An ancient Egyptian inspired mummy pumpkin. The hieroglyphs were super, which added great extra detail. They even managed to write ‘Mummy Pumpkin’ using hieroglyphs. Clever Year 4!

YEAR 5A

A half angel - half devil inspired pumpkin. This pumpkin started as a mistake but turned into an excellent idea. It represents yin yang in a way. In all dark there is light and in all light there is dark.

YEAR 5B

A Minecraft creeper inspired pumpkin made out of paper. Decorations around it were 3D Minecraft mobs and a wonderful background.

YEAR 6A

YR 6A had a pumpkin that was really quite scary to look at! There were hanging eyeballs, scissors shoved in everywhere, stitches, thumbtacks galore and pumpkin burgers! This pumpkin screamed halloween. At first look YR 6A thought it was missing something, that’s when the scissors came into play. A great last minute addition.

YEAR 6B

YR 6B had a terrifyingly ghoulish pumpkin, with guts made out of mashed bananas, tempera, pins and tissues! The effort put in this was horrendously good. Their bloody sign was made at the last minute and was a terrifyingly wonderful touch.

YEAR 7

This Pumpkin was the winning pumpkin and nicknamed the cutest pumpkin. The detail on the eyes was amazing and the green was almost too similar to the real thing! Well done YR 7 & well done Matilda!

YEAR 8

This pumpkin was based off the low battery (1%) screen you see ever so often on your phone. Horrifying!!! Though this pumpkin contained few colours, the red on black made a dramatic impact.
