ITALY & YEAR 6
Our Year 6 had two Italian encounters this year. Just before the winter break they had some Italian visitors in their class (check it out here: PARLI ITALIANO? ), and last week they had the chance to go to Italy. This is what they had to say about it... Where did you go, when and who accompanied you? We went to a primary school in Assisi, Italy. Every day after school we went to some parts of Italy with Ms Grgić and Mr Necmeskal. it was really fun and we ate different foods,

Y3 and the Medvedgrad Adventures
Last week, Y3 went on a hiking trip to Medvedgrad, accompanied by their form teacher Ms Šarina, PE teacher Mr Krznar and two parents. On their way up the Sljeme Mountain, pupils saw a small waterfall, met many obstacles such as fallen logs and trees they had to climb over, and even met a stork that came to drink some water near the trail. Children had no trouble climbing to the Medvedgrad fortress, where they discovered lots of interesting legends and facts about Medvedgrad a

OVER THE MOON FOR MUN
Want to learn how to be a diplomat? Do your research, listen and think hard before you speak, and take everybody's well-being into account! How is that possible? OUR FANTASTIC TRIO
Do you know what holds you up right on your feet? You might think it’s gravity but it’s your bones, muscles and cartilage. This trio works together all the time. Today I am going to explain you what is a bone made of, what happens when you break one, how many bones you have, what cartilage is for and why the muscles are super important. Let’s start with numbers! An adult has 206 bones, but for a newborn things are different. They have 300 separate bones! As babies grow, some

VISITORS FROM ITALY AT BRIGHT HIGH
Bright Horizons is a cool primary school, but Bright High, our secondary school, is also gaining popularity quickly! Bright Horizons Secondary School has been host to a group of high-school students from Italy. We have asked them to answer a few questions about this experience and they were kind enough to answer our questions and even sent us some photos. First we asked their teachers to tell us something about their visit to Croatia. Could you tell us a bit more about your s

NEW SCHOOL - NEW ME
Hi, my name is Livia and I’m in Year 5. I moved to Bright Horizons last year after living abroad, and I had a little trouble adapting. I decided to join the school newsletter and write an article because I wanted to share my experience and hear from other students, both new and old, about how they felt when starting a new school. I hope this can help make the transition easier for anyone in the same situation and give ideas on making new friends and getting to know teachers.

The air is getting warmer And summer is right around the corner. Spring is warm, the sky is blue And everything feels fresh

Christmas Stories from All Around the World
Not all Christmas stories are the same. Christmas is not just about a man wearing red and giving presents. There are lots of cultural traditions like Christmas markets, Krampus from Austria, La Befana the witch from Italy, Yule Lads from Iceland, and unique foods like sheep’s head in Norway or Bûche de Noël in France. Alongside these, there are widespread customs like decorating trees, singing carols, and leaving treats for gift-givers, often with regional twists on Santa Cla

PARLI ITALIANO?
This time of the year we all like to look back at what we've done so far and sort of make a recap of everything. Well, so did we! One of the amazing things our school had going on was a week's exchange visit from some pupils and teachers from an Italian school! They spent some time in our school, hosted by our formidable Year 6 and their from teacher Ms Lisica, and also travelled through Zagreb and Croatia to do some sightseeing. Once they left, we asked them to look back at
