Last week, Y3 went on a hiking trip to Medvedgrad, accompanied by their form teacher Ms Šarina, PE teacher Mr Krznar and two parents.
On their way up the Sljeme Mountain, pupils saw a small waterfall, met many obstacles such as fallen logs and trees they had to climb over, and even met a stork that came to drink some water near the trail.
Children had no trouble climbing to the Medvedgrad fortress, where they discovered lots of interesting legends and facts about Medvedgrad and people who used to live there a long time ago.
Before, where Medvedgrad stands now, there was sea. The kids were told that even huge whales used to inhabit it.
The guide also told a story about the Black Queen who ruled the fortress a long time ago. She was named the Black Queen because she’d always been wearing black clothes, rode a black horse and had a black raven sitting on her shoulder.
Y3 students made many stops and snack breaks on their way up and down the mountain. They enjoyed each other’s company, played games and simply had the time of their lives. NOT tired at all.
