What I'm grateful for...

Writer: AmadeaAmadea

Hm. What am I grateful for? A lot.

No matter where you are, in what situation you are, if it is not anything great or something you expected, always cherish the little things, the people, even if you're in a life or death situation. We need to be grateful for the people around us, and maybe, if not people, then at least our pets, or maybe the meal we had yesterday. However, this text isn't about you or other people. It's about what I'm grateful for - and there's way too little space and time for me to say everything. But let me start.

Mostly, I'm grateful for my mom. As far as I can remember, she's always been there for me, she always listens and puts up with me. If anyone else was in her place, they would quit. I mean, I would. But no - she listens to me, cares for me, feeds me... Even if she's on a meeting worth millions, for example, and I've just sprained my ankle, she'd be there. I'm sure of it. Fully. My mom is probably the only person that picks up the broken pieces of my life and fixes them, regardless of the fact that it maybe hurts her or she could be sick. If we fight, she's always the one to try to patch it up, even if it really was my fault.

I really think my mom deserves the world. You may think so about your mom too, or maybe your dad. But it doesn't matter, because my mom is the most supportive, kind, funny, amazing and one of a kind person I've ever met and ever will meet.

(This was the winning text in our Year 7- 8 writing competition before Christmas. We are all so proud of Amadea and we know her mum will be, too. The red rose is her mum's favourite flower.)
