This was like time travelling! Field trips are the best! After having studied cave paintings and life in neanderthal times, Year 3 went for a visit to the Krapina Neanderthal Museum and were left breathless and speechless at what they got to see there!

Here is what Year 3 had to say about it:

  • My favourite part of the trip when we were making clay art because it was fun and we got to choose the animal M.

  • My favourite part of the trip when we saw the baby T-Rex skeleton!" A.

  • My favourite part of the trip was when we visited the souvenir shop. T.

  • I loved the trip! We explored interesting stuff! T.

In case you didn't know, Year 3 have been studying about this period with their form teacher Ms Šarina for quite some time now. They even did their own cave paintings in charcoal, learning a new technique of drawing and exploring how much images must have meant in those times, before literacy and modern speech!

Here are some glimpses of their indoor and outdoor experiences, as well as the clay workshop which followed!

Thank you to our guide and hosts at the museum who were brilliant! So proud of our Year 3 who already know so much about this period of human history and now have a feeling as if they actually time-travelled there! Thank you to Ms McCowell and Ms Plejić who accompanied them and were also wowed by the experience!
