Did you know that we have a sports superstar in our school? Well, we do and she is spectacular, superb and just supercalifragilisticexpialidocious:). Her name is Sara Dajko and she is out of this world!
Sara comes from an Olympic family. One of her grandfathers was Slovakia's basketball team coach, whereas the other one was a legend in the former Soviet Union - the best speed skater. Her grandmother competed successfully in biathlon, her father is Slovakia's former basketball champion and her mother is a ballerina. Can you believe her luck in the gene pool? Sara simply had to get the best of everyone and become a miracle herself.
When she was born, her mother took her swimming to a salt water pool in Belgrade, where they lived at the time. Sara the Superstar was swimming all by herself at the age of 7 months, no equipment to help her and even without her mother having to enter the pool! She would have been a TV star, but her parents protected her from the media! Sara started to train swimming with various coaches and swimming in the Serbian national team! She is currently 6 years old and can outswim 10-year-old boys! She can swim all styles - front crawl, backstroke, butterfly! They have yet to come up with a style Sara could not do! Sara's only problem is that she's too young to compete in most countries! She trains 6-7 times a week, yet she can only compete in some disciplines in Serbia, Russia and China!
However, the sky's the limit for Sara! After becoming interested in athletics (obstacle courses) and karate, she now combines her training with taekwondo (yes, you read it well - taekwondo). No wonder she has a house filled with medals! She won silver and gold at the Taekwondo Festival in Croatia, and then 3rd place on her very first fighting competition! She is now training free style taekwondo in Zagreb with Borna Pečko, in an emerging acrobatic discipline of taekwondo! In her free time, Sara also does horseback riding and skiing. Only for fun. For now!
By the way, Sara is currently in Year 1 of Bright Horizons! She is reading, writing, doing maths and learning about nature with the rest of her peers! And she does her homework! Just in case you ever feel burdened with obligations - think about this wonder girl! And remember this name - Sara Dajko! We are proud to call her one of us!
