Where has the summer gone, right? Well, we missed you!
It's been a long summer break, yet we dove into the new school year so quickly and so thoroughly that we almost missed updating you on our events. This would be such a shame because we have already had so many events at school that this will only be a brief catching-up bullet points list for you!
In our Monday school Assemblies we have already breezed thorough these topics:
Welcome - like every year, our principal Ms Tišma welcomed back all our pupils and teachers, and we all welcomed our new peers and teachers to our community,
National Fitness Day - in which our PE teacher and pupils gave us a 30 day fitness challenge,
International Day of Peace - during which our Croatian and English teachers and pupils asked all of us what peace means for us and we agreed that peace starts within us, so we practised some mindfulness breathing activities,
European Day of Languages - our German teacher and pupils brought us some very interesting information about languages (As an international school, this is a very interesting topic for us.),
World Space Week - which was introduced to us by our science teacher and her class, and then we learnt that our school is officially participating in this worldwide project this year (more on this soon)
World Mental Health Day - during which our Year 3 answered the 30-day challenge but also taught us how to maintain our mental health and how to meditate...
We have also already:
been on some field trips (our Year b pupils travelled to Istria for their big class trip 'maturalac'),
the presidential election campaign for class presidents,
a phenomenal innovators' science fair Inventum at Ilok (more on this soon),
our first librarian's challenge,
World Space Week (more on this soon),
visit from our our school patron Mr Simon Thomas,
and plenty of projects, workshops, story time and newly acquired skills.
And in the blink of an eye, we are looking forward to this year's pumpkin competition, Halloween dress-up and the first midterm break!
Oh and, by the way, the new school year will bring us a new Bright Zone team! Can you believe it that this will already be our third year of running this amazing pupils' newsletter?! Our new team selection process has just started! We are looking forward to giving you another year of our pupils' academic and sports achievements, school events, competitions, adventures, projects, interviews! Keep reading because this will be another amazing year at Bright Horizons!
Take a look at some of the projects and artwork from our school displays for now - science projects, stories in English, drawings and paintings, etc.
(PS: Just a sneak peek - we will definitely be sneaking into our new Bright Horizons secondary school to see how they are doing! It seems like only yesterday we announced their admissions:)!)
