Our Bright High students are simply amazing! They are great role models for all of us in the Bright Horizon's Primary and Lowers Secondary! Here's what our amazing Ani did a few days ago...
1. We heard you had an exciting trip last week. Can you, please, tell us where you went and what was the purpose of your trip?
"I went to London for the COBIS 43rd annual conference and the theme was 'passion with purpose'. I was nominated as one of the students to present in front of school leaders on the topic of AI."

2. How long did it take you to prepare for it and who helped you?
"I prepared for it one month, and each day it was about 30 minutes. As the conference was coming close, I spent about an hour each day preparing. We had workshops online. We had two one-hour-long workshops with different companies on different topics, such as public speaking. One was about a panel I was going to be on, and we got homework where we had to do research. As well as that Ms. Bone, Ms. Duric and Ms. Maricic helped me--as well as my parents."
3. Was it more stressful or more exciting for you?
"It was more exciting, but on the day that I was going to present I was feeling stressed. I couldn't eat breakfast in the morning!"
4. Did you make any new friends at this conference?
"Yes! I created nice relationships, and we now have a group chat where we send a lot of messages. We are in contact every 15 minutes!"

5. What did the conference teach you - about others and yourself?
"It taught me to just continue to be hardworking, and to be who I am, because people appreciate it. I was there for a reason and I was picked for a reason. About others, there are kids that are passionate and hardworking as me. It's like I met other versions of myself!"
6. Why do you think experiences like this matter?
"They show how much potential you have, and how much young people are going to affect the future."

7. How did your friends and family react?
"My family was really excited, it was like they were going with me. My friends were also happy and very supportive."
8. Would you do something like this again and why?
"Yes I would do it again, absolutely, because it gives me motivation to continue to be who I am - and also, it can create school collaborations, which will definitely have a nice impact on everyone."

9. If you could change anything about this trip, what would you change next time?
"Honestly nothing - everything was great!"
10. Being a celebrity in the Bright Horizons community now, we must ask a few little details. We will ask you to choose one of these that you prefer: chocolate or cheesecake, movies or music, morning or evening, cats or dogs, science or art, summer or winter.
